Privacy Policy
Last updated November 1, 2026
Chancellor AI LLC ("Chancellor," "we") provides AI phone answering for businesses. This policy explains what information we handle, why, and the choices people have. When we answer calls for a business, we act on that business's behalf; that business's own privacy practices also apply.
Information we handle
- Calls: the caller's phone number, the call recording and transcript, a summary, and details the caller gives (such as a name, address or reason for calling).
- Text messages: the phone number and message content when texting is enabled, and records of consent and opt-outs.
- Business customers: contact details, setup information (such as hours, phone directories and rules), and billing details. Card details are handled by Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Website: what you send through our contact form, and basic technical information like IP address used to keep the site secure.
How we use it
To answer and route calls, send summaries and alerts to the business, keep a record the business can review, provide support, bill for the service, keep the service secure, and improve it. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use callers' information for our own advertising.
Who we share it with
With the business a caller contacted, and with service providers that help us run Chancellor, under agreements that limit their use of the data. These include telephone and texting carriers (Twilio), AI and speech providers that process call audio and text to generate responses, cloud hosting and databases (Render), email delivery (Resend) and payments (Stripe). We also share information when the law requires it or to protect people's safety.
How long we keep it
Call records are kept for as long as the business keeps its Chancellor account, unless the business asks us to delete them sooner. After an account closes we delete them within 30 days, except where the law requires us to keep them.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help.
- To ask for access to or deletion of a call record, contact the business you called, or reach us through the contact form on our home page and we'll work with that business to respond.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and reputable infrastructure providers to protect information. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll notify affected businesses as the law requires if a breach occurs.
Children
Chancellor is a business service and isn't directed to children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for material changes, notify our business customers.
